The IT Monitoring Expert within our team will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of IT systems. The role requires a strong understanding of why monitoring is important for IT systems and the ability to act as an interface between the monitoring team and our service end users. The IT Monitoring Expert will work closely with our stakeholders and customers in understanding and designing together the best possible monitoring outcome that will cover end-to-end all the case scenarios needed under check for their IT systems.

What to do:

• Defining and modelling the service trees by combining infrastructure and application component checks
• Structuring, analyzing and specifing requirements for building up the new service trees in co-operation with responsible solutions within different business units in the company
• Support the solutions in fulfilment of the monitoring criteria as well as continuous improvement of the monitoring quality
• Controlling and assuring proper data quality (especially in the ServiceNow/CMDB which is a base for the service trees) for the solutions built up in Central Monitoring System (CeMoS)
• Maintaining existing service trees but also continuously improving and extending them in co-operation with solution responsibles while also defining and tracking these improvement tasks
• Support and guide the users within solutions and operations-teams in their daily work with CeMoS
• Solve raised problems proactively together with the CeMoS team
• Work closely with CeMoS developers in an agile mode and support in testing and assuring quality before any changes are being released
• Increase awareness and knowledge to the different units within the company for the importance of monitoring through trainings, workshops and hand-out materials
• Build and maintain KPIs to overlook and improve Monitoring Quality

You check these boxes:

• A completed education (HTL, FH, university and/or experience in the bank IT environment)
• You are familiar with CMDB (ServiceNow or other vendors)
• You have knowledge about IT Monitoring (Service-tree design, alerting, dashboarding)
• You understand how to bring people together, communicate goals and reach decisions
• You bring a customer perspective and speak the language of the different internal and external stakeholders
• You are well organized and enjoy work on data quality improvements
• Ability to work on smaller projects simultaneously
• You understand the IT landscape and are familiar with IT Service Management and frameworks such as ITIL
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft 365 applications
• You have a very good command of English (German language is an advantage)
• Analytical thinking and ability to think outside of the box
